IRA Accounts

Saving for retirement has never been easier. Montana Federal Credit Union offers both Traditional and Roth IRA savings accounts. Stop in and see one of our friendly member service representatives for more information. MFCU IRA savings accounts are federally insured by NCUA up to $250,000.00, so you know your investment is secure.

Take a look at the general guidelines on different IRA structures below. Be sure to consult your tax advisor for more detailed information.

Traditional IRAs

A Traditional IRA is a special tax deferred savings plan authorized by the Federal Government to encourage you to accumulate money for retirement. Contributions to Traditional IRAs may be tax-deductible and earnings will grow tax-deferred until withdrawn.

Roth IRAs

A Roth IRA is an individual retirement account to which participants are able to make annual non-deductible contributions. Unlike a Traditional IRA in which your earnings are tax-deferred, Roth IRA earnings can be tax free.

Consult your tax advisor for more information or to find out which IRA may be right for you.
